The Lamb

by William Blake

Little Lamb, who made thee?
Dost thou know who made thee?
Gave thee life, and bid thee feed
By the stream and o'er the mead;
Gave thee clothing of delight
Softest clothing, wolly, bright;
Gave thee such a tender voice,
Making all the vales rejoice?
Little Lamb, who made thee?
Dost thou know who made thee?

Little Lamb, I'll tell thee,
Little Lamb, I'll tell thee:
He is called by thy name,
For he calls himself a Lamb.
He is meek, and he is mild;
I a child, and thou a lamb.
We are called by his name.
Little Lamb, God bless thee!
Little Lamb, God bless thee!

I used a TPCASTT for this poem

T: The Lamb
P: The poem is saying that Jesus made everyone of us and He is the God of lamb. Also the poem tells us positive aspects about the lamb.
C: Rhyme scheme, symbol, alliteration, epithet, and repetition.
A: Curious, biblical, blessing, humble, tender, innocent, detailed words
S: At 10th stanza, the tone and the person talking to a lamb sounds like he/she has discovered something magnificent.
T: Little Lamb, who made thee?
T: There is only one God and one savior, who died for our sins and created not only human natures, but also an innocent lamb. We are implied as a lamb, and Jesus as God.
